This is it… The final ‘Song of the month’ for the year. For those who are unaware, this is a blog series where I talk about that one song that got stuck in my head during the month’s duration.
This month: Cornelia Stree by Taylor Swift (2019)
How did I hear about this song
I’ve been a fan of Taylor Swift’s work since 2009. I went to hear Speak Now concert in Sydney and bought most of her albums. So, of course, I was looking forward to her most recent album ‘Lover’. In fact, Cornelia Street was one of my fave songs during my ‘first impressions’ listening session when the album released.
Thoughts on Cornelia Street
I like the song because of the lyrics.
Here’s the thing you need to know about me when it comes to Taylor Swift songs: Each guy I like has at least 1 TAYLOR SWIFT SONG that I connect them with. Some of them are good/happy ones, and some of them are the opposite.

So for Cornelia Street, it reminds me of a guy I like. To me, the lyrics hold a symbolic/metaphorical connection rather than a literal. However, some does hold some literal meaning as well.
Also the song is soft and catchy and I can play it on repeat.

Fave Lyrics
And I hope I never lose you, hope it never ends
I’d never walk Cornelia Street again
That’s the kind of heartbreak time could never mend
I’d never walk Cornelia Street again
Cornelia Street || Taylor Swift || Chorus
In all honesty, this song reflects on how I’m feeling at the moment. The feeling of satisfaction and finding someone who actually makes you really happy and appreciated. The feeling and the wish of something that would last and the fear of ruining it and having your heart shattered once more.
I loved this song so much this month that it was my Discord status.

Why is it Song of the Month?
It’s a song that reflects on what I’m feeling at the moment. Since I’m afraid to be ‘really honest’ on how I feel, this song was able to help sedate myself and preventing from running my mouth. At some point, I will be honest and express those feelings, but for now, listening to this song is enough.
Cornelia Street is a song with good lyrics that I enjoy listening on repeat as it triggers good memories and warm feelings.
And this is why Cornelia Street is my song of the month.
